This bronze statue is based on the famous picture “Lunch atop a Skyscraper” publisched in 1932.
“The box” refers to the smal lunch box next to Astroman.
In aviation terms “The box” means the transponder in an airplane ,that transponder identifies airplanes on the radar in the control tower.
